Indian Engineering Services examination is conducted by the Government of India. IES are civil services in which technical & managerial functions of the Government of India meet. As we know, the Government of India recruits civil servants for the public sector & for the civil services based on merit, by conducting exams. In very large numbers people are taking these exams. According to the Government of India, IES officers are selected by the union government on the recommendation of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Consequently, the selection process is rigorous and transparent.

- Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
Career opportunity:-
- Selection as Assistant Executive Engineer/ Assistant Director/ Assistant Work Manager
- Promotions are available in IES after 3- 4 years.
- The age of superannuation is 60.
Eligibility:-
- The candidate should be a citizen of India.
- The candidate should have a B. Tech. degree in the mentioned trades (CE/ EC/ EE/ ME).
- Candidate age should be 21-30 yr.
Examination:-
- Candidates can apply only Online by using the website www.upsconline.nic.in.
- The application fee for the general category is 100. & no fee for female & reserved candidates.
- This test is conducted across India, in June.
Plan of Examination:-
The IES examination conducts two types of papers: technical exams and general ability tests, which are held in three stages.
Paper 1st is a General Ability Test. It is an objective paper of 200 marks.
Papers 2nd & 3rd are Technical papers according to the trade. It is an objective paper of 200 marks.
Papers 4th & 5th are the Conventional technical papers according to the candidate’s trade.
The final cut off Marks:-
The final cut-off mark in 2024 is 691/1300(General)
