INSEAD is known as the Business School for the World. They have three fully – integrated campuses in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East along with 80+ different nationalities in the classrooms. Of all the students who are at INSEAD for an MBA, 19% would be able to avail of the scholarship benefit through INSEAD.
The INSEAD scholarships are the most sought–after source of financial assistance. As mentioned earlier only 19 % of the students get chances to avail it. The scholarships are granted based on certain criteria. Though there are 25 criteria for it, there are mainly 2 major criteria:-
1. Need-Based Scholarships
a. INSEAD Alumni Association (IAA) Scholarship Fund
Scholarship Amount:- up to € 25,000
Eligibility of Candidates:- This scholarship lies in the criteria of Diversity with financial need.
Candidates need to do:- To avail of this candidate should fill and submit a Need-Based Scholarship Application and essay questions in which the candidate has to describe his financial circumstance as well as cash flow forecast for the year in approximately 350 words.
b. INSEAD Alumni Fund (IAF) Robin Hood Scholarship
Scholarship Amount:- up to € 20,000.
Eligibility of Candidates:– The students who would be able to justify the difficulty in raising finances for their studies would be eligible for this scholarship.
Candidates need to do:– Along with it, they have to submit an essay describing the candidate’s aspirations for their future career and development within 300 words.
c. INSEAD Need-Based Scholarship(s)
Scholarship Amount:- € 12,000.
Eligibility of Candidates:– The selection committee will grant this scholarship only to those candidates who can effectively demonstrate and provide proof of significant financial hardship in funding their MBA program at this University. However, some priority would be given to those with marked socio-economic disadvantages.
Candidates need to do:– The selection committee requires candidates to write a 400-word essay about themselves and a 350-word financial description, ensuring authenticity as it will be verified
d. INSEAD Alumni Fund (IAF) Diversity Scholarship(s)
Scholarship Amount:- € 10,000.
Eligibility of Candidates:–
The selection committee will award this scholarship to candidates who can effectively demonstrate and provide proof of significant financial hardship in funding their MBA program at this University. Additionally, the committee will give priority consideration to applicants residing in emerging or developing countries.
Candidates need to do:– For this, the candidates have to write about their financial circumstances and cash flow forecast for the year very accurately and concisely within 350 words.
2. Non – Need-Based Scholarships
a. INSEAD Admiral Scholarship
Scholarship Amount:- € 15,000
Eligibility of Candidates:- All candidates on the basis of merit
Candidates need to do:- A concise essay describing themselves
b. INSEAD Alumni Fund (IAF) Special Profile Scholarship(s)
Scholarship Amount:- € 10,000 to € 25,000
Eligibility of Candidates:- All candidates who are confident enough to fulfill special or different categories.
Candidates need to do:- A concise essay describing themselves
c. INSEAD Alumni Fund Women’s Scholarship
Scholarship Amount:- € 15,000
Eligibility of Candidates:- All candidates who are confident enough to fulfill special or different categories.
Candidates need to do:- In approximately 350 words candidates need to answer the following questions:
Women are still not equally represented in the business world. How can be resolved this?
Explain the impact do you aspire to have?
What do you expect to contribute in the future?
In approximately 150-200 words explain why a women’s scholarship at INSEAD would be important to you and outline any factors that you feel would distinguish you from other candidates.
What amount of award do you consider appropriate? Discuss. (Approximately 150 words)
d. INSEAD Andrew Hordern Endowed Scholarship – ‘91D
Scholarship Amount:- € 10,000
Eligibility of Candidates:- Candidates who do not have traditional MBA backgrounds
Candidates need to do:-
In approximately 350 words candidates need to demonstrate why you believe your background is unusual, non-traditional, or different and why you merit a scholarship for non-traditional backgrounds.
Candidates also need to provide a concise but accurate description of their financial circumstances as well as a cash flow forecast for the year at INSEAD (details of income set against all expenditures). Also, explain how you expect to finance your studies if you do not obtain a scholarship or financial aid from INSEAD.
e. INSEAD Andy Burgess Endowed Scholarship for Social Entrepreneurship
Scholarship Amount:- € 10,000
Eligibility of Candidates:-
The selection committee requires candidates to showcase their experience or dedication to social entrepreneurship, assessing their entrepreneurial potential. The committee will prioritize applicants who demonstrate financial need.
Candidates need to do:-
Within a 500-word limit, candidates must describe a project or venture they have led or been involved in, highlighting its financial viability and social responsibility. The example should demonstrate the candidates’ entrepreneurial spark and willingness to take on an ambitious and/or risky challenge.
f. INSEAD Deepak and Sunita Gupta Endowed Scholarship(s)
Scholarship Amount:- Up to € 25,000
Eligibility of Candidates:- Candidates from emerging/developing countries who can demonstrate proven financial need.
Candidates need to do:- In approximately 350 words candidates need to provide a concise but accurate description of their financial circumstances as well as a cash flow forecast for the year.
g. INSEAD Forte Foundation Fellowship
Scholarship Amount:- €15,000
Eligibility of Candidates:- Candidates for the Forte Fellowship should exhibit exemplary leadership in one or more ways: academic leadership; team leadership; community leadership; and creative leadership. In addition, INSEAD will look for measurable academic and personal achievement as well as involvement in issues related to the advancement of women.
Candidates need to do:- In no more than 500 words candidates need to explain why they should be the Forte Fellow in class at INSEAD. What amount of award do they consider appropriate? Discuss. (approximately 150 words)
h. INSEAD Groupe Galeries Lafayette Endowed Scholarship for Women
Scholarship Amount:- €10,000
Eligibility of Candidates:- Women candidates who have been admitted to the INSEAD MBA program and who identify with the goals and ambitions of Groupe Galeries Lafayette.
Candidates need to do:- (a) Analyse and discuss the requirements for a company such as Groupe Galeries Lafayette to succeed in your country today.
(b) Describe how you envisage contributing to the future development of the retail sector after graduation.
(c) Why you should be selected for this award? (350-400 words)
(d) In 150-200 words provide a concise but accurate description of your financial circumstances as well as a cash flow forecast for the year at INSEAD (details of income set against expenditures).
i. INSEAD Ian Potter ‘93D and Family Endowed Asia Scholarship
Scholarship Amount:- Up to € 10,000
Eligibility of Candidates:– Must be Asian Nationals of Singaporeans. Preference will be given to participants from developing countries and candidates who justify financial need.
Candidates need to do: the complete Need-based Scholarship application and essay questions.
j. INSEAD Judith Connelly Delouvrier Endowed Scholarship
Scholarship Amount:- Up to US $ 15,000
Eligibility of Candidates:– Women Candidates
Candidates need to do:– Apply through the IAF Women’s scholarship.
k. INSEAD L’Oreal Scholarship
Scholarship Amount:- Partial Tuition
Eligibility of Candidates:- Candidates of any nationality, who demonstrate a capacity for creativity, and innovation through diversity and entrepreneurial activity. Preference will be given to candidates who provide proof of financial need.
Candidates need to do:– In no more than 550 words for all the questions that follow:
1. Give any relevant example of a particularly creative personal achievement.
2. Give an example in which you set yourself a very ambitious and even risky objective.
3. Provide a concise but accurate description of your financial circumstances.
4. Explain why you believe you should be considered for the L’Oreal Scholarship. What amount do you think is appropriate?
l. INSEAD Louis Vuitton Scholarship
Scholarship Amount:- Up to € 25,000
Eligibility of Candidates:– Candidates must be a national of China or India, must have lived or studied in one of these countries, and ideally completed their first professional experience there as well. Preference will be given to candidates who require proven financial assistance. Experience in retail is a plus.
Candidates need to do:- 1).In 350-400 words
(a) Analyse and discuss the requirements for success in the luxury business in your country today,
(b) Describe how you envisage contributing to the future development of your country after graduation and
(c) Why you should be selected for this scholarship.
2). In 150-200 words provide a concise but accurate description of your financial circumstances as well as a cash flow forecast for the year at INSEAD (details of income set against expenditures).
m. INSEAD Louis and Evelyn Franck Endowed Award for Excellence
Scholarship Amount:- US $ 10,000
Eligibility of Candidates:– Based on the quality of admission applications one award will be made per intake to one of the most outstanding participants (as determined by the school) who has been admitted to the INSEAD MBA Programme in either Round 1 or Round 2. A separate scholarship application is not required.

n. INSEAD MBA ‘03D Endowed Diversity Scholarship
Scholarship Amount:- Up to € 10,000
Eligibility of Candidates:– A candidate whose background, work experience, and personal profile will bring a unique diversity to INSEAD and who would not otherwise be able to attend INSEAD.
Candidates need to do:– Complete the Need-based Scholarship application and essay question.
o. INSEAD MBA ‘70D Special Profile Endowed Scholarship
Scholarship Amount:- Up to € 15,000
Eligibility of Candidates:- The ’70 class wishes to support well-qualified individuals from poor backgrounds who would not otherwise be able to attend INSEAD and thereby empower them through the INSEAD experience. Such special profiles can be candidates from socially, economically, and/or politically challenged countries.
Candidates need to do:– Please refer to the need-based scholarship description and the appropriate essay question.
p. INSEAD MBA ‘87J Special Profile Endowed Scholarship
Scholarship Amount:- Up to € 15,000
Eligibility of Candidates:– A candidate whose background, work experience, and personal profile will bring additional and unique diversity to INSEAD and in the future to their own communities as INSEAD alumni. Such special profiles can be candidates from socially, economically, and/or politically challenged countries; a commitment to the not-for-profit sector; career in technological innovation that improves the environment. Candidates from emerging countries requiring financial assistance will also be considered.
Candidates need to do:- Please refer to the need-based scholarship description and the appropriate essay question.
q. INSEAD MBA ‘89D Endowed Scholarship
Scholarship Amount:- Up to € 10,000
Eligibility of Candidates:– A candidate whose background, work experience, and personal profile will bring a unique diversity to INSEAD. The ’89D class wishes to support well-qualified individuals who would not otherwise be able to attend INSEAD and thereby empower them through the INSEAD experience. Candidates requiring financial assistance will be considered.
Candidates need to do:- Complete the Need-based Scholarship application and essay question.
r. INSEAD MBA ’91 June Endowed Scholarship
Scholarship Amount:- € 10,000
Eligibility of Candidates:– A disadvantaged candidate from a developing nation who demonstrates the need for financial assistance, and in particular to a candidate who is likely to return to his/her country and/or region of origin in the foreseeable future.
Candidates need to do:-
1). In approximately 350 words for all the questions that follow:
(a) State why you feel an INSEAD MBA is relevant to your particular career needs,
(b) Explain how you envisage contributing to the future development of your country/region after graduation.
2). In approximately 350 words provide a concise but accurate description of your financial circumstances as well as a cash flow forecast for the year e.g. details of income (such as your income, investment income, savings, property rentals, etc) set against details of expenditure (such as local outgoings, INSEAD fees, rent living expenses).
How do you expect to finance your studies if you do not obtain a scholarship or financial aid from INSEAD?
Why INSEAD should consider you for a need-based scholarship?
What amount do you consider appropriate?

3). Complete the Need-based Scholarship application and essay question.
s. INSEAD Orange Endowed Scholarship(s) for Emerging Markets
Scholarship Amount:- Up to € 20,000
Eligibility of Candidates:-
We consider candidates from Armenia, Brazil, Central African Republic, Dominican Republic, Egypt, India, Kenya, Madagascar, Moldova, Niger, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, United Arab Emirates (Dubai), and Uganda.
We also give preference to candidates who demonstrate financial need.
Knowledge of French would be a plus.
Candidates need to do:-
1). Describe
(a) why you wish to undertake the INSEAD MBA?
(b) how you envisage contributing to the future development of your country or region,
(c) why you should be selected for the INSEAD Orange Endowed Scholarship. (350 words)
2). Provide a concise but accurate description of your financial circumstances as well as a cash flow forecast for the year at INSEAD (details of income set against all expenditures).

t. INSEAD Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund (Sylff)
Scholarship Amount:- € 12,000
Eligibility of Candidates:– Candidates of any nationality who show strong leadership in a cross-cultural setting. Preference will be given to candidates who require financial assistance.
Candidates need to do:– 1).In no more than 500 words, describe a significant experience you have encountered, in either your professional or private life, in which you have demonstrated leadership in a cross-cultural community situation. Identify the leadership qualities required and discuss your own success or failure in the above situation.
2). Provide a comprehensive statement on how you plan to finance your INSEAD MBA. (150-200 words)
u. INSEAD Syngenta Endowed Scholarship(s) for Emerging Country Leadership
Scholarship Amount:- € 22,000
Eligibility of Candidates:– Candidates must be a national of an emerging economy and have spent a substantial part of their lives in the developing world, in education and/or professional experience. Experience in industry will be considered a plus. Preference will be given to candidates who require proven financial assistance.
Candidates need to do:–
1). Briefly discuss the requirements for successful business leadership in your country today. Describe how you envisage contributing to the future development of your country after graduation and why you should be considered for this award. (200 words)
2). Briefly discuss measures required for sustainable agriculture in your country/region in the context of urban and rural development. Focus on what you consider to be the most important element (450 words)
3). Provide a concise but accurate description of your financial circumstances as well as a cash flow forecast for the year at INSEAD (details of income set against expenditures). (150-200 words)
v. INSEAD Western Scholarship(s)
Scholarship Amount:- Up to € 15,000
Eligibility of Candidates:– Based on the quality of admission applications (no scholarship application is required) one or two awards will be made per intake.
