IT Delhi partners with LG Electronics to drive research & innovation in advanced tech domains – ET Government

NEW DELHI: IIT Delhi, through its Corporate Relations Office, has recently entered into a strategic collaboration with LG Electronics to drive research and innovation in advanced technology domains. Formalized by a Master Agreement, the partnership combines IIT Delhi’s academic excellence with LG’s technological expertise to develop transformative solutions in sustainable technologies, artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, and other emerging fields, an official release said on Tuesday.This alliance reinforces the commitment of both institutions to fostering impactful research, strengthening industry-academia engagement, and advancing technological frontiers, the institute said.

The collaboration will engage distinguished faculty members, including Prof. Nitya Nand Goswami and Prof. Jayant Jain from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, focusing on material and corrosion research, and Prof. Ankit Singhal and Prof. Yashasvi Bansal from the Department of Electrical Engineering, contributing to innovations in electrical technologies.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Preeti Ranjan Panda, Dean, Corporate Relations, IIT Delhi, stated, “At IIT Delhi, we continuously strive to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial application. Our partnership with LG Electronics is a testament to the shared vision of fostering innovation that not only advances technology but also benefits society at large.”

Echoing this sentiment, Prof. Naresh Bhatnagar, the then Dean of Research and Development , IIT Delhi, added, “This collaboration will enable impactful research outcomes by integrating IIT Delhi’s multidisciplinary strengths with LG’s industry leadership. We look forward to co-developing cutting-edge solutions that will shape the future of technology and sustainability.”

Simwon Chin, Senior Vice President, LG Electronics, expressed LG’s commitment to research excellence by saying, “India is a key market for LG, and we are excited to collaborate with IIT Delhi, one of the country’s premier institutes.
