The National Testing Agency (NTA) has wrapped up Day 4 of the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 exam for Paper 1 (BE/BTech). The remaining three days of the April session are scheduled for April 7, 8, and 9. NTA will conduct Paper 1 (BE/BTech) on April 7 and 8, while Paper 2A (BArch) and Paper 2B (BPlanning) will be held on April 9. The April 7 exam is being conducted in two shifts — Shift 1 from 9 am to 12 noon and Shift 2 from 3 pm to 6 pm.
The JEE Main 2025 April 7 Morning Shift exam was rated moderate in overall difficulty, with a balanced mix of questions across all three subjects. While the paper was generally well-structured, Class 12 topics were given more weightage compared to Class 11. According to experts and student feedback, Mathematics emerged as the toughest section, largely due to lengthy and time-consuming questions, whereas Chemistry was the easiest, with most questions being theory-based and directly from NCERT. Physics fell in between, with a fair share of numerical and formula-based problems. Here’s a detailed subject-wise analysis of the paper.

Physics
The Physics section was easy to moderate. Most questions were numerical and formula-based. Important chapters included Mechanics, Modern Physics, Electrostatics, Ray Optics, and Units & Measurements. There were no questions from Fluids, Wave Optics, or Electromagnetic Induction. While a few questions needed careful calculations, most were direct and scoring.
Chemistry
Chemistry was the easiest of the three subjects. Many questions were statement-based and simple. Organic Chemistry had the highest weightage, followed by Inorganic, and Physical Chemistry had the least. Questions from Chemical Kinetics and Solutions appeared in Physical Chemistry. Most theory questions were directly from NCERT, and numerical problems were limited.
Mathematics
Maths was the most difficult and time-consuming section. Topics like 3D Geometry, Vectors, and Conic Sections had more questions, while Matrices and Calculus had fewer. Many problems were lengthy and calculation-heavy, making time management a big challenge.
