The Central Selection Allocation Board (CSAB) has announced the counselling schedule for the special, supernumerary rounds for admissions via the Joint Entrance Examination-Main 2025. The admission through JEE Main scores is eligible for BTech programmes at the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), and other participating institutes.
Students need to remember that through the JEE Main supernumerary rounds, admissions are eligible at NIT Durgapur, NIT Calicut and Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology Surat for eligible candidates belonging to the union territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
On the other hand, the JEE Main 2025, special round of admissions, is available only for vacant seats after JoSAA 2025 counselling for the NIT system. As notified, this year, there will be three rounds of counselling followed by special and supernumerary rounds of admissions.
JEE Main 2025: Schedule, fees for CSAB Supernumerary rounds
All candidates allocated seats in the supernumerary round have to pay the supernumerary seat Acceptance Fee (SSAF), which includes a non-refundable CSAB processing charge of Rs 5,000. Any fee paid during JoSAA-2025 and/or CSAB-2025 special rounds will be adjusted towards CSAB-2025 SSAF after deducting applicable charges of JoSAA and CSAB Special Rounds, as mentioned in the notification.
CSAB 2025: Who is eligible to apply?
–All candidates, who were eligible for JoSAA-2025 / CSAB-2025 special rounds as per JEE (Main) 2025 Ranks and having their state code of eligibility as the UTs of Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and who do not have a valid allocated seat in NIT+ system, at the end of all rounds of JoSAA/CSAB-2025, will be eligible for participating in the CSAB 2025 supernumerary round of seat allocation.
–Candidates who were eligible for PI reporting at the allocated institute at the end of JoSAA/CSAB-2025 special rounds (as they are occupying seats) are not eligible to participate in the CSAB-2025 supernumerary round of seat allocation.
–In addition, candidates occupying a seat in DASA-2025 will not be allowed to participate in the CSAB-2025 supernumerary round.

JEE Main CSAB 2025: Things to remember
–Only eligible candidates for the CSAB-2025 supernumerary round will be allowed to register and fill out online choices. Students can fill in choices for all the branches in the seat matrix.
–Allotments of the seats will be done through the CRL Rank of the JEE Main 2025.
–All candidates allocated seats in the supernumerary round have to upload documents on the CSAB-2025 portal for online document verification.
JEE Main 2025: CSAB Documents to upload
- Class 10 Certificate or Birth Certificate
- Class 12 Mark sheet
- Category certificate for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS candidates
- UDID Card and/or PwD certificate(s) for PwD candidates
- State of Eligibility Proof
- Medical Certificate
Candidates who have confirmed their seats after online document verification must report to their assigned institute according to the schedule and guidelines listed on the institute’s website. During physical reporting, candidates will need to pay any remaining institute fees. The fee paid to CSAB will be transferred to the assigned institute, minus applicable processing charges

Seat Allotment Amount
After seat allotment, if the candidate has uploaded all the required documents, she/he have to pay the SSAF online. The SSAF amount is Rs 38,000 for GEN, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL candidates and Rs 18,000 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates who got the allotment first time.
The candidates who paid any fee during JoSAA-2025 and/or CSAB-2025 special rounds shall be adjusted towards CSAB-2025 SSAF, and the balance amount will be paid.
CSAB 2025: Grievance redressal

The board has made it clear that any decisions made by the Chairman, CSAB 2025, regarding such grievances will be considered final.
Additionally, applicants can refer to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) available on the official website, csab.nic.in, for further assistance. The multilingual help desk offers support in Assamese, Bengali, English, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, and Telugu languages. The help desk will operate in two shifts: from 09:00 hrs to 13:00 hrs and from 14:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs.
