JEE Main 2025 Day 4 Analysis: Mathematics paper appeared challenging and lengthy for students while chemistry paper of moderate difficulty.

JEE Main 2025 Day 4 Paper Analysis: The National Testing Agency (NTA) commenced the JEE Main 2025 Session 1 on January 22. Today, January 28, marks the fourth day of the exam. Each day, the exam is conducted in two shifts: the first shift runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, while the second shift takes place from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Candidates aiming for BE/BTech courses appeared for JEE Main Paper 1, while those seeking BArch admissions will take Paper 2.

Paper 1 included 75 questions, divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. According to NTA guidelines, students had 3 hours to complete the exam, which carried a total of 300 marks.

The evaluation will be as per the following marking scheme:

•       Every correct answer: +4 marks
•       Every incorrect answer: -1 mark
•       Unattempted question: 0 marks

1st Shift: Major Highlights

Mathematics: The mathematics exam was considered difficult and lengthy, requiring a solid understanding of concepts and meticulous time management. There was less stress on formula-based questions, indicating that students needed to focus more on conceptual clarity and application of principles rather than simply plugging numbers into formulas.

2nd Shift: Major Highlights

Mathematics: The Mathematics paper was moderate in terms of difficulty but lengthy, requiring careful time management from candidates. The calculations involved in the paper were quite lengthy, demanding a great deal of patience and precision. Integration was given significant weightage in the paper, making it a major focus area for students.

Chemistry: The Chemistry paper was of moderate difficulty, striking a balance between conceptual understanding and application. The paper was NCERT-based, making it crucial for students to thoroughly study the NCERT textbooks. All chapters from the syllabus were covered, ensuring a broad scope of questions.

Physics:  The Physics paper was moderately difficult, with a greater emphasis on formula-based and conceptual questions. The overall structure of the paper was straightforward, but it required a deep understanding of the underlying concepts. The paper included a balanced mix of conceptual and formula-based questions, testing candidates’ ability to apply theoretical knowledge. There was a clear focus on ray optics and magnetism, with more questions dedicated to these topics.
