JEE Main Topper: For his preparation, Haryana’s Saksham Jindal said he went through a lot of practise tests and revised previous years’ papers thoroughly

A native of Hisar, Haryana, Saksham Jindal moved to Kota in Rajasthan to prepare for one of the toughest exams in the country, the IIT engineering entrance exam, JEE Advanced. To get to that, he had his goal set. Get good marks in JEE Main 2025. The 17-year-old has now cracked the first step — the JEE Main 2025 Session 1 exam with 100 percentile. He secured 295 out of 300 marks.

After completing his class 10 from OP Jindal School in Hisar in 2023 with 98 per cent, Saksham moved to Kota and joined Allen Career Institute. For his preparation, Saksham said he went through a lot of practise tests and revised previous years’ papers thoroughly. “We are usually preparing for JEE Advanced but two months earlier, we shifted our focus towards JEE Main. We increased the focus towards NCERT for the Mains exam. We also took a lot of practise tests from previous question papers to maintain the flow,” Saksham told News18.

Talking about his JEE Main session 1 exam, it was physics and chemistry that he found difficult. “Maths was lengthy compared to physics and chemistry but these subjects had the maximum tricky questions,” he said, adding that he also plans to appear for the Session 2 exam.

Saksham is now all set to appear for the class 12 CBSE board exam 2025 from Nalanda Academy at Kota. “I have been focussing on JEE Advanced only since I came to Kota but right now with JEE Main and the boards coming up, I have shifted my focus on the other subjects. Since Physics, Chemistry, and Maths syllabi are on similar lines for JEE and class 12, it is quite a relief,” he added.

A lover of Mathematics, Saksham says even though both his parents are doctors I have always wanted to join engineering. “Although my father is a pathologist in Hisar and my mother too had studied medicine, it is my passion for Math that led me to shift to engineering,” he explained.

“I talk daily with my parents which helps me relive my stress. That is the time when we do not talk about studies but about general routine which is very helpful. They have kept me motivated,” he added. He aims to go to IIT Bombay to study Computer Science.
