JEE Main Result 2025 Out: The JEE Advanced is the gateway to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Know top IITs here

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Mains session 2 results 2025. Those who appeared for the Joint Entrance Examination for Session 2 in April can now check and download their results by visiting the official website of NTA JEE at jeemain.nta.nic.in. To access the scorecard, candidates need to key in their details like Application Number and Password in the login module.

More than 15 lakh candidates appeared in both the shifts. This time, 2,50,236 candidates are in the race for JEE Advanced. A total of 9,92,350 candidates appeared in the second session of exam. This included 6,81,871 female candidates and 3,10,479 male candidates. The JEE Advanced is the gateway to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

The following is a list of the top 10 IITs in the country based on the NIRF engineering rankings 2024:

1: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras (Chennai, Tamil Nadu)

IIT Madras maintained its top ranking in the Ministry of Education’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of India’s best universities for the sixth consecutive year. In 2024, the Madras-based institute ranked first with a score of 89.46. In other domains, including research and innovation, IIT Madras also performed well.

2: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi (New Delhi)

Among the top universities in the nation, IIT Delhi has continued to be ranked using the Education Ministry’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). With a score of 86.66, the Delhi-based institute came in second place in 2024.

3: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay (Mumbai, Maharashtra)

With a score of 83.09, IIT Bombay was ranked third overall in India in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024. Additionally, it is ranked first in the Innovation category and third in the Engineering category.

4: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur (Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh)

IIT Kanpur placed fifth overall, fourth under engineering, seventh under research, and 29th under management in the 2024 NIRF Rankings, which are published yearly by the Ministry of Education. Last year, the Kanpur-based Institute achieved an NIRF Rankings score of 82.79.

5: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur (Kharagpur, West Bengal)

IIT Kharagpur’s sustained achievement in delivering high-quality education is demonstrated by its placement of sixth overall and fifth in the engineering category in the NIRF 2024 rankings. According to the NIRF 2024 rankings, the Kharagpur-based institution had a score of 76.88.

6: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee (Roorkee, Uttarakhand)

IIT Roorkee placed sixth in the Engineering category of the NIRF 2024. With a score of 76.00, it also earned sixth place in the Overall category. It came in at number nine in the Innovation category.

7: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati (Guwahati, Assam)

IIT Guwahati received a score of 71.86, placing it ninth overall and seventh in the Engineering category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024. Furthermore, IIT Guwahati placed tenth in the Research category.

8: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad (Hyderabad, Telangana)

IIT Hyderabad, one of the most sought-after universities in the city for engineering students, came in eighth place with an outstanding score of 71.55. IIT Hyderabad has a reputation for having excellent placements.

9: Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) Varanasi (IIT-BHU) (Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh)

With a score of 66.69, IIT BHU is placed 10th in the Engineering category of the NIRF Ranking 2024. In the Overall category, the institute is ranked 30th by NIRF 2024.

10: Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad

IIT Dhanbad came in at number 15 in the Engineering category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 with a score of 64.83. The institute also achieved a ranking of 35th in the category of Overall.
