Kalpit Veerwal made history in 2017 by becoming the first student ever to score a perfect 360/360 in the JEE Main exam. His remarkable achievement earned him a place in the Limca Book of Records. What many would consider the pinnacle of success was only the beginning of a bigger journey for him.

Kalpit was born in Udaipur, Rajasthan, to a modest family. His father worked as a compounder at a government hospital, while his mother was a school teacher. From a young age, Kalpit valued education and made sure to focus on his studies.

Students who want to crack entrance exams like JEE or NEET often choose to go to Kota, the well-known coaching hub, but Kalpit chose to stay in his hometown. He followed a disciplined routine, balancing school, self-study, and coaching classes, without feeling the need to study for 16 hours a day.

He believed in consistent and focused study rather than long hours of cramming. His approach paid off, as he excelled in multiple national Olympiads and became a KVPY and NTSE scholar.

From IIT Bombay To Building An Empire

After achieving the perfect score in the JEE exam, Kalpit enrolled in IIT Bombay’s computer science programme. While most students would follow the typical route of graduating and seeking high-paying jobs, Kalpit had different plans. His goal was to earn enough money through other ventures to skip placements altogether.

He started by sharing his JEE preparation strategies through essays, which quickly gained attention. This led him to start a YouTube channel, where he shared tips and advice on exam preparation. His channel, AcadBoost, grew rapidly, and by 2019, it earned a Silver Play Button from YouTube after reaching 100,000 subscribers.

Turning Dreams Into Reality With AcadBoost

Seeing the growing demand for his educational content, Kalpit decided to take AcadBoost to the next level. He launched an online education platform, skipping internships to focus on expanding his business. The platform became a huge success, and in just a year, he developed his first online course, which generated more income than the highest placement offer at IIT Bombay. By the time he completed his final year, Kalpit made the bold decision to leave IIT a semester early to fully focus on growing AcadBoost.

Not Just An IITian, But A Voice For Change

His entrepreneurial journey continued to soar. By 2021, LinkedIn recognised him as one of their ‘Top Voices’ and invited him to speak at TEDx, where he shared his journey from being a JEE topper to a successful entrepreneur. Despite being approached by private equity firms and edtech giants with offers for investment and acquisition, Kalpit chose to remain independent. He reinvested his profits into businesses, stocks, and real estate to build passive income streams.

Advocating For A Healthier Approach To Student Life

Throughout his career, Kalpit has remained committed to student well-being. When a viral study schedule suggested extreme hours of preparation, he was quick to speak out, emphasising that burnout and skill issues often result from overwork. Even during his own JEE preparation, he made time for hobbies like cricket, badminton, and music. Kalpit’s decision to stay in Udaipur instead of moving to Kota allowed him to lead a balanced life, one that combined academic excellence with personal well-being.

Today, Kalpit Veerwal is much more than the boy who scored a perfect 360/360 in JEE. He is an entrepreneur, a TEDx speaker, and a role model for students across India.
