JNVST Class 6 Admission 2025: The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has begun the online application process for admission to Class 6 in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) for the 2026–27 academic session.
Parents and guardians can now register their children online through the official websites — navodaya.gov.in and cbseitms.rcil.gov.in. The last date to submit the online application is July 29, 2025.
JNVST Class 6 Admission 2025: Eligibility criteria
To apply for Class 6 admission, students must meet the following requirements:
Residence Condition: The student must apply only to the JNV located in the same district where they reside. A valid residence certificate must be provided during the application process.
Educational Qualification: Applicants must have studied and passed Classes 3, 4, and 5 in a government, government-aided, or government-recognised school.
Single Attempt Rule: Each student is allowed to appear for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) only once.
Rural Quota: 75% of the total seats are reserved for students from rural areas. To qualify, the student must have studied Classes 3 to 5 in a school situated in a rural area of the same district.

Remaining Seats: The remaining 25% of the seats are filled on a merit basis and are open to both rural and urban students.
JNVST Class 6 Admission 2025: How to apply?
Candidates can follow the instructions below to complete their registration:
Step 1: Visit the official website — navodaya.gov.in
Step 2: Click on the link saying ‘Register for Class VI Registration 2026’
Step 3: On the new page, click on the registration link
Step 4: Fill in the required personal and academic details

Step 5: Upload necessary documents, including a recent photograph, signature, and residence certificate
Step 6: Submit the application form and download a copy for future reference
JNVST Class 6 Admission 2025: Exam dates announced for two phases
As per the official notice, the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2026 for Class 6 admission will be conducted in two phases, depending on the applicant’s location:
Phase 1: December 13, 2025, at 11:30 am
States/UTs covered under phase 1 are: Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal (except Darjeeling), and all Union Territories (except Ladakh)
Phase 2:

Phase 2: April 11, 2026, at 11:30 am
Regions covered in phase 2 are: Select districts of Jammu and Kashmir (excluding Jammu-I, Jammu-II, Samba & Udhampur), Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh (Dibang Valley & Tawang), Himachal Pradesh (Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, etc.), Darjeeling in West Bengal, and Leh & Kargil in UT Ladakh.
