Bangarappa said, “This rise reflects growing awareness of the three-exam system and the importance of higher marks for competitive entrance exams and college admissions. More importantly, the Karnataka Examination Authority had deferred CET results and had agreed to announce them after the PUC Exam 2 results were announced. Due to this, more candidates registered for Exam 2. Therefore, candidates can now choose the best of the two scores from Exam 1 or 2 for CET, to achieve better rankings.”
The Karnataka second PUC Exam 1, conducted from March 1 to March 20, 2025, saw 7.13 lakh students (3,35,468 boys, 3,78,389 girls, and five transgender students) appear across 1,171 exam centers. The results, announced on April 8 recorded a pass percentage of 73.45% (freshers), with 4,68,439 out of 6,37,805 students passing.
To promote accessibility, KSEAB has exempted girl students across all categories and male students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Category-1 groups from paying examination fees for registering as repeaters for Exam 2 and Exam 3. This initiative aims to reduce financial barriers for students seeking to improve their results, prompting more candidates to sign up for Exam 2.
Additionally, no fees are charged for the second and third exam attempts, unlike previous years when students paid between Rs 270 and Rs 400 for re-examinations.
Meanwhile, the SSLC exam results will be declared early May, announced the minister.
