This year, the SSLC exams were conducted throughout the state from March 21 to April 4. During this academic year, 8,96,447 candidates participated in the SSLC class 10 board exams, comprising 4,61,563 male and 4,34,884 female students. With 65,000 evaluators spread over 240 evaluation centres, the exams were administered at 2,818 locations.

Previous Performance
In SSLC last year, a total of 8.9 lakh students had registered for the Karnataka Board Class 10 exams. Of them, 4.5 lakh boys and 4.3 lakh girls participated in the annual board exams. The overall pass percentage was 73.40 per cent, which was a decline from 2023’s 83.89 per cent and 2022’s 85.13 per cent. This was also a decline from the pre-pandemic years (2019) when the pass percentage was 73.70 per cent. The Karnataka board Class 10 SSLC result last year was declared on May 9.
As a result of the low pass percentage previously, the board had enhanced the normalisation by increasing the grade marks from 10 per cent to 20 per cent. The qualifying marks for the Karnataka SSLC exam were also reduced from 35 per cent to 25 per cent. In 2024, only 1 student secured 625 marks, compared to 2023, when four students were able to achieve the same score.
