Following the announcement of the Kerala Plus Two exam results, the Kerala Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE) on Thursday announced that the Plus Two SAY (Save A Year) examinations for 2025 will be conducted from June 23 to June 27, 2025.

The Kerala Class 12 SAY exam is for students who were unable to perform well in the examination. The last date to apply for the same is May 29.

How to apply?

The application for the Save a Year (SAY) exam is not available online. Instead, the application forms must be collected from the candidates’ respective schools, and once filled it should be submitted to their respective principals.

Before submission, passport size photograph must be pasted and attested by the school principal in the space provided in the application form.

Festive offer

The Principal of the school will register the candidates at their centre for SAY/Improvement Examination 2025. The principal will download and distribute the admission tickets of the candidates at least three days before the commencement of the examination.

The principals will then prepare the nominal roll and question paper statement of the candidates attending the examination and upload the details through Department Portal within the time limit specified.

Important dates

Students who are interested in applying for the Kerala SAY exam must take note of the following dates:

Practical exam will be conducted on June 4 and 5 in a selected centre, one in each district.

Where will the exams be held?

The Examination will be conducted in the selected Higher Secondary Schools in Kerala, all schools in Lakshadweep and a selected school in the Gulf region.

Who is eligible to apply?

Candidates who failed the Kerala Second Year exam are eligible to apply for the exam. Such candidates shall register for all subjects for which they failed to attain D+ grade or above.

Candidates who attained the minimum required passing grade of D+ but wish to better their scores can also apply for the improvement exam. However, in this regard, private compartmental candidates are not eligible to attend the exam.

The CE and PE scores (PE, in the case of subjects with Practicals) of the March Examination of such candidates shall be carried over. Candidates who had not undergone Practical Evaluation previously, would be allowed to attend the exam.

The consolidated certificate following the release of results of the SAY exam will include the scores attained in the previous exam and the re-examination.
