The admission process for Kendriya Vidyalaya Balvatika has now begun. Before Balvatika was introduced, KV only offered classes from Class 1 onwards, with no preschool system.

How to Get Admission?

Admissions to Kendriya Vidyalaya Balvatika follow the guidelines set by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The eligibility criteria for the 2025-26 session are as follows:

Bal Vatika 1: Children aged 3 to 4 years (as of March 31, 2025)

Bal Vatika 2: Children aged 4 to 5 years

Bal Vatika 3: Children aged 5 to 6 years

Application Process

Bal Vatika 1 and 3: Applications for Bal Vatika 1 and 3 must be submitted online via kvsangathan.nic.in or kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in. The application window for the 2025-26 session is open from March 7 to March 21, 2025.

Bal Vatika 2: Applications for Bal Vatika 2 must be submitted offline at the respective KV between April 2 and April 11, 2025, subject to seat availability.

Selection Process

There is no entrance exam for admission and selection is conducted through a lottery system, with priority given as follows:

  • Children of Central Government Employees
  • 25% of seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/BPL children under the Right to Education (RTE) Act
  • State Government employees, private sector employees, etc.

The first provisional list of selected candidates will be released on March 26, 2025.

  • Child’s birth certificate
  • Proof of residence (Aadhaar card, ration card, etc.)
  • Government service certificate of parents (if applicable)
  • SC/ST/OBC/EWS certificate (if applicable)

KVS Balvatika Fees

Kendriya Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi (KVVN) Fee: Rs 500 per month

Tuition Fees: Generally, no tuition fees are charged at the pre-primary level. However, additional fees may apply for specific categories, depending on KVS policies

Total Monthly Fees: Approx. Rs 500 (including KVVN), which amounts to Rs 1,500 per quarter.

Who Is Exempted from Fees?

RTE Quota: Children admitted under the 25% RTE quota (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) do not have to pay fees, provided they submit the necessary certificates.

Children of Central Government Employees: While a minimum fee applies, some exemptions may be granted under special provisions.

Single Girl Child: Fee exemptions are available for single girl children from Class 1 onwards, but this does not explicitly apply to Balvatika.
