Rupesh Kumar Jha passed the UGC NET exam seven times and cracked three government jobs, but he left everything and became an Acharya. He started teaching in a Gurukul. Now his goal is to open 108 Gurukuls all over Bihar. These days he has come to take a bath in Mahakumbh with his disciples.
Rupesh Kumar, originally from Mithila, runs Lakshmipati Gurukul in Saras Upahi village in Madhubani district, where about 125 children are studying Sanskrit. He gave the UGC NET exam several times and passed it. He also qualified for JRF twice, Acharya Rupesh Kumar told reporters. He says that many children have left English medium schools to study in his Gurukul.
Acharya Rupesh Kumar completed his graduation from Delhi University’s Kirori Mal College. After this, he studied at Brahmacharya Ashram’s Gurukul. According to Acharya Rupesh, he not only qualified for UGC NET, but he also left three permanent jobs and took up the task of teaching the Sanskrit language to spread Sanatan Dharma. He established Gurukul, where children are taught Sanskrit. He is visiting the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 with the children studying there.

This year, the Maha Kumbh Mela commenced on January 13 and will continue till February 26 in Prayagraj, Allahabad. The largest public gathering in the world, it brings together ascetics, sadhus, saints, kalpvasis, sadhvis, and pilgrims from diverse backgrounds. The Maha Kumbh Mela is held at the confluence of three rivers: Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. This confluence is known as Triveni Sangam.
In Hindu scriptures and texts, the Maha Kumbh Mela was described as an event where deities descended on Earth to bless the devotees. The Kumbh Mela takes place every four years in Haridwar, Prayagraj, Ujjain, and Nashik. Hindus celebrate Maha Kumbh after the completion of 12 full Kumbh Melas because of which it is organised once every 144 years.
