Maharashtra SSC, HSC 2025 exams: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has announced a fresh registration window for private candidates appearing in the July-August 2025 SSC and HSC board examinations. The decision to open the registration window was taken for students who had missed the earlier deadline for the February-March 2025 exam registration.

According to the official notice released by the Maharashtra Board, “Currently, only February enrollment is considered for private students to appear in the March examinations. However, many eligible candidates fail to fill the enrollment application within the deadline, resulting in a wasted academic year.” To address this issue for the first time, the Board is now allowing private enrollment for the July-August session, giving such students another chance to appear for their Class 10 and 12 exams without delay, in this year’s supplementary exams.

Online registrations to begin from April 15

The online registration process for private candidates will begin on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, and continue until Thursday, May 15, 2025. Eligible students can fill out Form No 17 online through the official website at mahahsscboard.in. After completing the online form, candidates are required to submit a printout of the filled application, a printout of the online fee acknowledgment, and original supporting documents to the school or junior college mentioned in the form.

Students who have passed Class 5 or Class 8 through the Maharashtra State Open School Board are also eligible to register as private candidates for the SSC (Class 10) examination. Upon successful registration, candidates will receive a digital registration certificate, after which they must proceed to fill the exam form and complete the required payment process.

“All schools and junior colleges for private candidates appearing for the SSC and HSC exams are available for enrollment as per the Board’s terms and conditions. Students, schools, and junior colleges are advised to contact their respective divisional board offices for guidance,” the official circular adds.

Detailed instructions, eligibility criteria, and the rulebook have been made available on the Board’s website. The Board has urged students and institutions to go through the guidelines carefully to ensure successful enrollment and participation in the July-August 2025 examinations.
