MUMBAI: Several engineering students staged a protest at Mumbai University’s Kalina campus again on Thursday, seeking a ‘carry-on’ chance. The students have one ATKT (allowed to keep term) in their first year and, therefore, are not being allowed admissions to the third year.
While the students claimed that other state universities are allowing this provision, Mumbai University is not considering it despite their repeated requests for the last five months. The students also alleged unfair evaluation of their ATKT papers, as the results were announced in just three days.
The university’s rule, however, allows the ‘carry-on’ facility only in exceptional cases. For instance, it was once allowed for the pandemic batch.
