The National Board Of Examinations In Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released an official notification related to a total of 48 vacant positions available for various posts. The application process for these positions will start on September 30 and the deadline for submitting applications is October 20. Interested candidates can apply via the official website of the National Board of Examinations In Medical Sciences.

Application Fees

Candidates of General, OBC and EWS categories are required to pay an application fee of Rs 1,770. Candidates from the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are exempt from paying any application fee. Payment of the application fees should be made via online mode.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for the positions of Deputy Director and Law Officer is 35 years. For the roles of Junior Programmer, Junior Accountant, Stenographer and Junior Assistant, the maximum age limit is set at 27 years. Candidates from the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories will be eligible for age relaxation as per government regulations.

Educational Qualification

Deputy Director- Candidates must complete a postgraduate medical qualification recognised under the Indian Medical Council Act-1956.

Law Officer- Applicants need a graduate degree and LLB with at least 50% marks, plus a minimum of 3 years’ professional experience post-registration with the Bar Council of India.

Junior programmer- Candidates should have a B.Tech, BE, BCA, DOEACC (‘B’ or ‘C’ level), a degree in Computer Science, IT, or Electronics with a specialization in computers, or an equivalent qualification.

Junior Assistant- Candidates should have completed the Senior Secondary Examination from a recognised Board/University to be eligible for the post. Proficiency in computers and basic software packages (like Windows/Network Operating System) is a prerequisite.

Stenographer- Candidates must have stenographic skills of 80 words per minute in shorthand and 30 words per minute in typing. They are also mandated to pass the Board-conducted tests in General English, Shorthand and Typewriting.

Junior Accountant- Candidates need a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or Commerce from a recognized University. They must also pass the examination outlined by NBEMS.

Selection Process

For Junior Accountant, Stenographer and Junior Assistant positions, selection involves two-stage exams: Stage 1 and Stage 2.

Stage 1 Examination-

Computer-Based Test (CBT)- 200 Questions with a maximum of 200 marks

Test duration: 180 minutes (3 hours)

Negative marking: 0.25 for each wrong answer

Minimum qualifying marks: 40% for SC/ST/PwBD/ESM, 50% for others.

Stage 2 Examination

Computer Knowledge/Skill Test- 100 marks

Test duration- 75 minutes.

Salary

Selected candidates will get salaries depending on the positions they have applied for. The candidates have applied from pay matrix level 2 to pay matrix level 11.
