NCL apprentice merit list 2025: Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) has announced the release of the merit list for its 2025 Apprentice recruitment drive. The recruitment, aimed at filling 1,765 Apprentice positions, was conducted under the provisions of the Apprentice Act, 1961. Candidates who have applied for the Graduate, Diploma, and Trade Apprentice roles can now check their names in the merit list published on the official website of NCL, www.nclcil.in.
The merit list was officially made available on March 23, 2025, after the completion of the application process, which began on March 12, 2025. NCL has invited interested candidates from various educational backgrounds to apply for positions in different trades, and the merit list marks a significant step forward in the selection process.
Vacancies and qualifications for NCL apprentices
The recruitment drive offered a wide range of opportunities for aspiring candidates across three categories of Apprentice posts. A total of 227 Graduate Apprentice positions were available, requiring applicants to hold a Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant discipline. The Diploma Apprentice category offered 597 positions, where candidates were required to possess a Diploma in the appropriate field. Additionally, 941 vacancies were available for Trade Apprentice roles, which required candidates to have an ITI certificate in the related trade.

Eligibility criteria and selection process
The eligibility for the NCL Apprentice recruitment varied depending on the post. Candidates were required to meet the age limit criteria, with the minimum age set at 18 years and the maximum age at 26 years. Age relaxation was provided as per the government norms. The selection process involved shortlisting candidates based on their educational qualifications, followed by document verification and a medical examination.
