NEET 2025 Registration: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the notification for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2025 this week. Once the notification is out, interested candidates will be able to apply online on the official website at neet.nta.nic.in. The official notice will include details about application dates, eligibility criteria, and the exam schedule.
NEET UG 2025 will be conducted in offline mode (pen and paper). Despite concerns over paper leaks, the government has decided to continue with this format due to logistical reasons.
One major change this year is the removal of optional questions in Section B. Candidates will no longer have extra time, which was introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic. The exam will now follow the pre-COVID format.
NEET UG 2025 will now have a total of 180 compulsory questions—45 each in Physics and Chemistry, and 90 in Biology. Candidates will need to complete the exam within 180 minutes (3 hours).
Why Is NEET UG Conducted?
NEET UG is the national entrance test for undergraduate medical courses, including:
- MBBS and BDS (Medical and Dental) courses
- BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS (Ayurveda, Unani, and Siddha) courses
- BHMS (Homeopathy) under the National Commission for Homeopathy
- BSc Nursing for Military Nursing Service (MNS) aspirants in Armed Forces Medical Service hospitals

Is APAAR ID Mandatory For NEET UG 2025?
No, APAAR ID is not required to apply for NEET UG 2025. Candidates can register using other available options, which will be mentioned in the official information bulletin when released.
Aspirants should keep an eye on the official NTA website for updates and ensure they are ready for the application process as soon as the registration window opens.
