NEET MDS 2025: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Science (NBEMS) has introduced mandatory time bound sections in the National Eligibility Entrance Test – Master of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS) 2025 paper. The time bound section update is not new, however, the testing agency in this notification has shed more light on the pattern of the question paper.
The time bound sections is introduced in all NBEMS MCQ-based examinations in NEET-PG, NEET-MDS, NEET-SS, FMGE, DNB-PDCET, GPAT, DPEE, FDST and FET. All these exams are conducted in computer based format.
“This measure has been implemented to enhance the security and sanctity of the exams in light of emerging threats during the examination process,” read the NBEMS notification.
NEET MDS 2025: Question paper format
The NEET MDS question paper will consist of two sections: Part A and B. As stated in the NEET MDS notification, the part A will have 100 questions while Part B will have 140 questions. Students will get 75 minutes to complete part A on the other hand, 105 minutes will be given for part B.
Candidates would be restricted to proceed to the next part until completion of the allotted time of the
previous part of the NEET MDS 2025. Aspirants would not be allowed to review the questions/ modify the
responses of a part after the completion of the allotted time of that part.
Questions of the next part will start automatically after the completion of the allotted time of the previous part, mentioned the notification of the NBEMS.
NEET MDS 2025: Demo test
The demo test hosted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Science for MDS will be conducted from April 9 onwards. Aspirants will be able to access the demo test on the official website of NBEMS under the application link webpage.

Last year, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reduced the qualifying cut-off percentile for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Master of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS). The qualifying cut-off percentile is reduced by 21.692 percentile for each category – general, SC, ST, OBC and UR-PWD.
