NID DAT Result 2025: The National Institute of Design (NID) has officially announced the result for the NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) 2025 Prelims for the Master of Design (M.Des.) programme today, February 17, 2025. The results are available online, and candidates can access them by logging in on the NID admissions website (admissions.nid.edu). The scorecard includes important details, such as section-wise scores and the overall score. Candidates who qualify the DAT Prelims will progress to the next stage, which is the DAT Mains.
Along with the results, NID has also opened the rechecking window for candidates who wish to request a review of their results. The rechecking request window will remain open from 6:00 PM on February 17, 2025, until 4:00 PM on February 18, 2025. Candidates can fill out the online form for rechecking on the official NID website.
Key Dates and Schedule
The following are the important dates for the upcoming stages of the admission process:
• Download Admit Card for DAT Mains: 4:00 PM on February 24, 2025
• DAT Mains Exam: From March 3 to April 6, 2025
• DAT Mains Result Announcement: 4:00 PM on May 6, 2025
• Rechecking Request for DAT Mains: 4:00 PM on May 6, 2025, to 4:00 PM on May 7, 2025
• Seat Allotment, Payment of Token Fees & Document Uploading: 4:00 PM on May 6 to May 7, 2025
• Provisional Offer Letter Release: 4:00 PM on May 20, 2025
• Payment of Remaining Semester Fees: Between May 20 and May 26, 2025
SoP & Portfolio Submission for Mains
Candidates who have qualified for the DAT Mains must submit their Statement of Purpose (SoP) and Portfolio within the specified window. Candidates must upload separate documents for each discipline they are shortlisted for. The SoP should be a maximum of 100 words per question and uploaded as a single file (max 2 MB). The portfolio, in digital format, must be uploaded as a single file not exceeding 10 MB.

Structure of DAT Mains for M.Des.
The DAT Mains consists of two parts: a Studio Test and an Interview. The Studio Test will be conducted in English, and its format may vary. Following the Studio Test, interviews will be held separately for each discipline, at the same location. Candidates are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements, as NID will not provide these.
The final merit list will be determined by combining the results of the DAT Prelims (30%) and DAT Mains (70%), which includes the Studio Test (40%) and the Interview (30%). Only those who appear for all the tests in both stages will be eligible for the merit list.
