NIMS University and European University to set up AI & Robotics Institute in Rajasthan

NIMS University and a European University have collaborated to establish a dedicated Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Cybernetics at the NIMS University campus in Rajasthan. The institute, set to be inaugurated on April 1, 2025 is a part of an agreement between the Rajasthan Government and NIMS University under the Rising Rajasthan initiative. The event seeks to bring together global AI scientists, industry leaders, and academicians.

The institute will house ‘state-of-the-art labs featuring the Computing and AI Chip Lab by N-Video, Robotics Lab by KUKA (Germany), Automation Lab by Siemens (Germany), and Drone Technology Lab by Captics (Canada). Also, it will have more than 500 high-performance computing systems and partnerships with Siemens Healthineers, Dell, Microsoft, SAP, HP, Intel, and Amazon.

The institute has been designated as the Indo-Pacific European Hub for Digital Partnership (INPACE), fostering AI and cybersecurity research in collaboration with the European Union. This recognition, awarded in the presence of the Czech Republic’s Prime Minister, underscores India’s growing leadership in digital innovation.

NIMS-AICON 2025: A Global AI Conference

Coinciding with the launch, NIMS-AICON 2025, an EU-affiliated international AI conference, will be held from April 1 to 3 in partnership with Czech Technical University, Prague. Themed ‘Transforming India’s Future through AI-led Innovation,’ the conference will explore AI’s impact on industries, healthcare, and emerging technologies.

Key discussion themes of the conference include:

– Industrial AI: AI-driven optimization in manufacturing and supply chains.
– Medical AI: Life-saving applications in healthcare.
– Emerging AI Trends: Advances in robotics, deep learning, and AI’s future.

Professor Dr Balvir Singh Tomar, Chairman of NIMS University, emphasised that the initiative will position Rajasthan as a global AI hub. He said: “As we integrate AI into every aspect of our lives, it is crucial that we approach this integration in a planned manner. This conference serves as a platform where innovation, leadership, and research converge to create effective solutions for the world’s current challenges. The future of AI is limitless, and this event marks an important step toward an AI-driven future that benefits everyone.”
