PANAJI: Even as the Class XII second term-end exam of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education began on Wednesday, 20,493 students have registered to appear for the Class X second term-end exam, scheduled to be held from April 1.
Of the students to answer the Class X exam, 10,413 are boys and 10,080 are girls. Also, another 423 repeater students and 72 private candidates have also registered to appear for the exam. Twenty-three students will appear for the Class X exam as ITI registration.
The Goa board had split the syllabus for Class X and XII into two equal parts, as a special case during the pandemic. The pattern is applicable during the current academic year of 2022-23 as well. In this special evaluation scheme, the board itself conducts both the first- and second-term exams.
Last week, the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has said in a new circular that students of Class X and XII who were absent for the first-term exam will be permitted to take the second-term exam as a one-time relief.
It is also decided that the syllabus for the supplementary examination of SSC/HSSC for June/July 2023 will be the entire syllabus. No marks from first or second term examination will be carried forward in the supplementary exam.
This rule of students appearing for the entire syllabus in the supplementary examination will also be applicable to students who are unsuccessful in the March-April 2023 SSC and HSSC exams.
