MANGALURU: Dr P Dayananda PaiP Satisha Pai Government First Grade College, Carstreet, Mangaluru has been accredited with grade A, in its second cycle of accreditation by NAAC.
Earlier, the college was accredited with grade B, in 2015. The Peer Team formed by NAAC had paid a two-day visit to the college on March 2 and March 3, to finalize the accreditation process. The Peer Team held a series of meetings with various stakeholders of the college including faculty members, students, parents, alumni and the College Development Committee (CDC) headed by D Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru South. It also visited all the academic and student support facilities of the college and verified documents related to functioning of the college. The final result was announced on Friday.
“This grading by NAAC is an authentic recognition of the quality of education and facilities provided by the college which is already reputed as one of the notable higher educational institutions of the region, currently having over 2400 students”, said Jayakara Bhandary, principal of the college. “This remarkable success was possible because of the support of a team of dedicated staff, CDC, PTA, Alumni Association and active participation of all students'”, he added. The Peer Team Visit was coordinated by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college with Deviprasad as coordinator and Jyotipriya as co-coordinator.
