A vibrant week of learning and fun kicked off in Bengaluru South on Monday as a special summer camp opened its doors to children aged 8-14. Organised in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent Mann Ki Baat message, the camp encourages youngsters to make the most of their holidays by blending enjoyment with new skills.

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, who spearheaded the initiative in his Lok Sabha constituency, shared glimpses of the camp on ‘X’, highlighting the enthusiasm of around 2,500 children taking part in activities like yoga and meditation, Gita recitation, dance fitness, and self-defence.

“We’ve kickstarted a week-long Bengaluru South Summer Camp for children aged between 8-14 years across 10 centres in the constituency. With sessions in yoga & meditation, Gita recitation, dance fitness, self-defence & drawing, about 2,500 young minds are picking up an additional skill during these holidays. This is in line with PM Shri @NarendraModi Ji’s #MannKiBaat message yesterday, where he encouraged children to mix fun and learning this summer,” Surya posted on ‘X’.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reshared Surya’s post about his interaction with the children at the camp, extending his best wishes.

“Wishing all my young friends a wonderful experience and happy holidays. As I said in last Sunday’s #MannKiBaat, the summer holidays provide a great opportunity to enjoy, learn and grow. Such efforts are great in this endeavour,” he wrote.

During the 120th episode of Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, PM Modi introduced a special calendar to help children make their summer break more productive and creative. The MY-Bharat calendar offers study tours where children can explore how Jan Aushadhi Kendras operate, experience life in border villages through the Vibrant Village campaign, and participate in other educational activities.

The Prime Minister also encouraged children and their parents to share their holiday experiences using the hashtag #HolidayMemories.
