Private schools in Kashmir closed today in protest following terrorist attack on a group of tourists in Pahalgam, Anantnag district, on Tuesday.

A horrific terrorist attack occurred in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday, sending shockwaves across the region and the nation. Terrorists opened fire indiscriminately on a group of tourists, resulting in the tragic deaths of 26 people, including two foreign nationals, and leaving 11 others injured. In response to the attack, all private schools in Kashmir have been closed for today as a mark of protest.

The Jammu and Kashmir Private Schools Association convened an emergency meeting. During the session, tributes were paid to the victims, and wishes for the swift recovery of the injured were expressed.

Additionally, all examinations of Cluster University Srinagar scheduled for 23-04-2025 have been postponed.

Jammu University also suspended all academic activities for the day, and all scheduled exams were postponed. The meeting was chaired by the association’s president, Arshad Ali Chaudhary, with senior trustees and patron Haji Abdul Hamid Chaudhary in attendance.
