To pass the examination, students must achieve a minimum score of 33 per cent. After the official announcement of results, students who are not satisfied with their scores can apply for result scrutiny.

Last year, the PSEB Punjab Board conducted the Class 8 examinations on March 7, 11, 12, 15, 16, 18, 20, 21, and 27. The board recorded an overall pass percentage of 98.31% for the Class 8 exams. Harnoorpreet Kaur from Government Senior Secondary School, Bhai Rupa, in Bathinda district achieved the highest score, obtaining 100 per cent marks. Armandeep Singh from Government Elementary School, Ratoke, Sangrur, secured third place in the state with 99.5% marks in the PSEB Class 8 examinations in 2024.
