Deepesh Kumari cracked the UPSC exam with immense support from her family, especially her mother and is now an IAS.

There are numerous UPSC success stories on the internet. But there are a few inspirational stories that leave a lasting impression on the minds because of the hard work and struggles of the person. Similar is the case for IAS Deepesh Kumari, who brought fame and recognition to her family, her community and her town Bharatpur in Rajasthan.

Govind, a resident of the Atal Band area in Bharatpur, has been selling snacks for the last 25 years. He has five children and is the only breadwinner of the family. While the family’s financial situation was not good, Govind didn’t compromise with his children’s education. All his children too, worked hard in their studies. Among them is the eldest daughter Deepesh Kumari, whose success story will leave you inspired.

Deepesh Kumari has always been a bright student since her childhood. She completed her schooling at Shishu Adarsh Vidya Mandir. In class 10, she secured 98% while in class 12 she scored 89%. After school, she wanted to pursue civil engineering and enrolled in Jodhpur College. Later, she got into IIT Bombay from where she did her M.Tech.

Due to her excellent academic record, she could have easily secured a high-paying job but it was her dream to join the civil services. Soon, she began her preparation for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams. With her sheer dedication and hard work, she cracked the exam on her second attempt, securing AIR 93 in the UPSC exam 2021 and becoming an IAS.

After Govind’s daughter became an IAS, he continued to run his snack stall. He still lives in the small house. Apart from Deepesh Kumari, her other siblings too are academically brilliant. Two of her brothers are pursuing a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). Her sister has become a doctor, and another brother helps their father with his work.

According to her, her family’s support was the biggest motivating factor in this journey. Deepesh Kumari’s mother always encouraged her and gave her the assurance and confidence that she needed to crack the UPSC exam.
