The Rhodes Trust has begun accepting applications for the Rhodes Scholarship for India 2026. Eligible candidates can apply for this fully funded, full-time postgraduate programme at the University of Oxford by submitting the necessary documents and following the application guidelines. There is no application fee for the scholarship, and submissions must be made online.
The Rhodes Scholarship covers all costs for postgraduate studies, allowing exceptional students to pursue two to three years of education at the University of Oxford, depending on their chosen academic path. Six students will be selected for the scholarship from India.
“The Rhodes Scholarship is the oldest international scholarship programme in the world, enabling outstanding young people from around the world to undertake full-time postgraduate study at the University of Oxford,” states the official website.
Applicants must be between 18 and 23 years old, though in some cases, candidates up to 27 years old are considered.
Rhodes Scholarship India 2026: Documents Required To Apply
– Birth certificate or valid passport
– Indian passport or equivalent proof of Indian citizenship (PIO/OCI not accepted)
– University or college transcript showing academic grades
– 10th and 12th standard marksheets (or equivalent)
– For those not currently studying in India: proof of at least four years of formal education in India within the past ten years and proof of completion of 10th or 12th standard in India
– Completed CV section within the application form (including academics, leadership roles, volunteering, awards, etc.)
– Recent passport size photograph in JPG format
Candidates must note that if they are selected as a Rhodes Scholar, they will still need to apply to the University of Oxford soon after their selection. “The team at Rhodes House will be on hand to support you with the application process. They will have access to your entire Rhodes Scholarship application, and your references may be re-used, if appropriate, to support your application to the University of Oxford,” the notice read.
