The Rhodes Trust has opened the registration window for applications to the Rhodes Scholarship for India 2026. Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for a fully funded, full-time postgraduate award at the University of Oxford by submitting the required documents and following the application procedures for the Rhodes Scholarship for India 2026.
The Rhodes Scholarship is given to outstanding students to undertake two to three years of study, depending on the academic curriculum taken, at the University of Oxford. Students aged 18–23 (up to 27 in particular circumstances) are eligible to apply. A total of 6 scholars will be shortlisted and awarded the scholarship.

Rhodes Scholarship: How to apply?
Candidates have to apply for the Rhodes Scholarship before applying to their chosen course at the University of Oxford. There is no application fee to apply for the scholarship, and the submissions should be made online. Successful candidates will then apply to Oxford through its graduate application form, with support from Rhodes House.
Important documents required to apply for the Rhodes Scholarship India 2026
Candidates must upload copies of the following documents, translated into English if necessary. Original documents may be requested later.
– Birth certificate or valid passport
– Indian passport or equivalent proof of Indian citizenship (PIO/OCI not accepted)
– University/college transcript showing academic grades
– 10th and 12th standard marksheets (or equivalent)
For applicants not currently studying in India:
–Proof of at least 4 years of formal study in India in the last 10 years

–Proof of completion of 10th or 12th standard in India
– Completed CV section within the application form ((includes academics, leadership, volunteering, awards, etc.)
– Recent headshot photograph in JPG format.
Meanwhile, the Duolingo English Test (DET), in collaboration with the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India, has announced the opening of applications for the ‘DETermined’ scholarship. The DET scholarship is a financial aid initiative exclusively for Indian women who are in STEM fields. The scholarship offers a one-time grant of USD 30,000 to support tuition for undergraduate or postgraduate programs in the United States beginning Spring 2026.
The application is now open for submissions on the Manthan portal and is aimed at bridging the financial gap for high-achieving Indian women aspiring to pursue global education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
