RRB ALP 2025 Registration: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced an extension of the registration deadline for the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) 2025 recruitment. Eligible candidates can submit their application forms until May 19, 2025 through the official website, rrbcdg.gov.in. As per the revised schedule, the last date for payment of application fees has also been extended to May 21. Earlier, the deadlines for registration and fee payment were May 11 and May 13, respectively.
Additionally, the modification window — allowing RRB ALP applicants to make corrections to their application forms — will now be open between May 22 and May 31. However, details entered during account creation and the selected RRB zone cannot be modified. A modification fee of Rs 250 will be applicable for any changes made during the time window is open.
The RRB has also informed that July 1, 2025, will remain the cut-off date for determining the age limit of RRB ALP applicants. However, May 19— the revised application closing date — will be valid for educational qualifications and other required certificates. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is conducting a recruitment drive to fill 9,970 vacancies for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP). Of the total openings, 4,116 positions have been allotted to the Unreserved (UR) category.
The Scheduled Castes (SC) category has been assigned 1,716 vacancies, while 858 positions are earmarked for Scheduled Tribes (ST). The Other Backward Classes (OBC) category will have 2,289 vacancies for RRB ALP, and 991 posts are reserved for candidates from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). In addition, a total of 1,004 vacancies have been set aside for Ex-Servicemen (Ex-SM) candidates as part of the RRB ALP reservation policy.
Meanwhile, the Board had announced that over 1.08 crore candidates have applied for the Group D recruitment under notification CEN 08/2024. Notably, among the different regions as segregated by the RRB, Mumbai received the highest number of applications, with 15,59,100 (or 15.59 lakh) candidates applying.
The Indian Railways Group D recruitment drive includes various Level 1 positions across the Railways, for job-roles such as Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Assistant Pointsman, and technical assistants in departments like Electrical, Mechanical, and Signal and Telecommunication.
