SAIL Apprentices Jobs 2023: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has released a notification for the engagement of 239 Trade Apprentices at its IISCO Steel Plant in Burnpur.
Interested and eligible candidates can apply online on the official SAIL website – https://sail.co.in/. This opportunity is for the candidates who have completed their 12th/ITI/Diploma from a recognized board or organisation. The recruitment process has already started, and the last date to apply is April 29, 2023.
As per the notification, the age limit for general candidates is between 18-24 years. However, there is relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates in the upper age limit. Candidates are advised to carefully read the full advertisement/notification before submitting the online application to ensure they meet all the eligibility criteria.
The vacancies are available in various trades such as Electrician, Fitter, Rigger, Turner, Machinist, Welder, Computer/ICTSM, Ref. & AC, Mechanic-Motor Vehicle, Plumber, and Draughtsman (civil). The duration of the training will be one year from the date of Contract creation, and the contract will be terminated automatically after the completion of the apprenticeship training period.
The selection of the candidates will be based on their marks obtained during ITI in the specified category and trade. In case of a tie between the candidates’ aggregate marks, the older candidate will be given preference. The shortlisted candidates will have to give a notarized undertaking that they will not demand employment after the completion of the training.
The selected candidates will receive a stipend of Rs. 7000-7700 per month. However, apprentices will have to arrange for their accommodation and other related arrangements on their own.
Candidates applying through NAPS portal will be considered for the above-mentioned vacancies. Candidates are advised to register as a student online on the NAPS portal (https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) to apply for the same.

Here are the steps to apply online for the SAIL Trade Apprenticeship programme:
Step 1: Visit the official website of the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal at – https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in/.
Step 2: Register as a student on the portal and create your profile.
Step 3: Once registered, log in to the portal using your credentials.
Step 4: Search for the SAIL Trade Apprenticeship programme and select the relevant trade for which you want to apply.
Step 5: Carefully read the eligibility criteria and instructions given in the advertisement before proceeding with the application process.
Step 6: Click on the “Apply” button and fill in the application form with all the required details, including personal information, educational qualifications, contact details, etc.
Step 7: Upload the necessary documents, such as your photograph, signature, and educational certificates, in the prescribed format and size.
Step 8: Review the application form and ensure that all the information provided is correct.
Step 9: Submit the application form and take a printout of the same for future reference.
Step 10: Pay the application fee, if applicable, using the online payment gateway.
Step 11: Keep a copy of the application form and fee receipt safely with you until the end of the recruitment process.
