September will see the closure of schools due to Onam and Ganesh Chaturthi. In some states, schools are closed on both Onam and Ganesh Chaturthi.

Onam will be observed on September 5, Teej will be celebrated on September 6, and Ganesh Chaturthi on September 7. However, in some states including Maharashtra, schools remain closed for 7-10 days on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Thus, students will get a long holiday. Also known as Vinayaka Chaturhi, it is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and is observed for around 9 to 11 days.

Furthermore, many schools remain closed on both Saturday and Sunday. If your school or college is closed on both Saturday and Sunday, then you will get nine days of holiday in September. There are four Saturdays and five Sundays in this month. Some schools also remain closed on the third or last Saturday of the month. September 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 are Sundays whereas September 7, 14, 21, and 28 are Saturdays.
