Also known as Vinayaka Chaturhi, it is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and is observed for around 9 to 11 days.

There are four Saturdays and five Sundays in this month. Some schools also remain closed on the third or last Saturday of the month. September 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 are Sundays whereas September 7, 14, 21, and 28 are Saturdays.

He also responded to the criticism of not giving holidays to private schools in many places. Private educational institutions have also been directed to keep schools closed due to torrential rains.
