Schools in the Uttarakhand are closed today, September 11 owing to persistent heavy rains in some districts. For students in primary school through 12, the District Magistrate of Champawat has announced a holiday. Following this action, the Uddham Singh Nagar District Magistrate also declared a holiday for children for 1st through 12th class.

On September 11, 2023, it is anticipated that the Champawat district will see prolonged periods of torrential rain, heavy downpour, and lightning with thunder in some locations, according to the notification provided by the Champawat DM. The decision taken by DM cites weather forecast by Dehradun based forecasters.

District Magistrate in its notification dated September 10 asked all government, non-government and private schools of Champawat district including all Anganwadi centres to stay closed.

District Magistrate Uday Raraj Singh has ordered a holiday in all schools based in Udham Singh Nagar after alert by weather forecast. This shutdown is in compliance with the District Magistrate’s directives and is applicable to all schools, including Anganwadi institutions. Parents and children are asked to get in touch with there schools to find out more information on the closing of the schools.

Meanwhile, schools are likely to stay close in Bengaluru due to bus bandh. The Federation of Private Transport Associations, has taken a day off from the regular return. Thus parents have to look for alternative arrangements for the students as some schools in the district are not closed. However, it is to be noted that the decision is taken by the private transportation services. All government schools bus will comply on its earlier order.

Several reports indicate that schools have decided to give students the day off on September 11 as a result of the strike. There has been no official confirmation of widespread school closures, therefore it’s critical to remember that these decisions have been taken independently by individual schools. In a statement to MoneyControl, the Associated Managements of English Medium Schools acknowledged that certain schools that rely upon private school buses and vans as a form of student transport had declared a holiday for today.

As a result, it is highly recommended that parents and children get in touch with their individual schools to get more details about the holiday.
