Schools Open: List of states that remain closed today

Education | The Indian Express

Schools will remain closed across the country India in observance of Budhha Purnima, the birth anniversary of Gautam Budhha, which is a public holiday when banks, stock markets, government offices and educational institutions are closed.

The status of school closure in the coming days gives a mixed picture, considering fragility of the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Sunday, however, was marked by tranquility for the most part with hopes of normalcy returning to states affected by conflict, which had led to the cancellation of classes and postponement of several examinations.

In the wake of the conflict, authorities had ordered the closure of educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Ladakh.
