After the Dharmendra Pradhan alleged that the DMK was misrepresenting the NEP, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin lashed out at the Union Education Minister stating he speaks arrogantly and need to be disciplined. Taking to microblogging site, X, Stalin said that the state would not implement NEP 2020 and that no one can force them to do so. He also questioned whether the funds belonging to students will be released or not.
“Union Education Minister who thinks of himself as a king and speaks arrogantly. They need to be disciplined! Are you saying that you are being rude to Tamil Nadu MPs by not giving them Tamil Nadu funds? You are insulting the people of Tamil Nadu. Does the Honorable Prime Minister accept this? Was it you who wrote to me that the PM SHRI MoU sent by the Tamil Nadu government completely rejected the NEP and the three-language policy?” Stalin posted, roughly translated from Tamil.

Parliament resumed its Budget Session on Monday amidst a debate sparked by the Opposition’s allegations of Hindi imposition through the National Education Policy (NEP). Pradhan denied claims of Hindi imposition made by Stalin and other DMK leaders.
During Question Hour, Pradhan accused DMK of backtracking on the NEP and the three-language policy. He asserted that the state government was politicising the issue, putting the future of Tamil Nadu’s students at risk, and labeled the DMK’s stance as “uncivilised and undemocratic.”
“They (DMK) are dishonest. They are not committed to the students of Tamil Nadu. They are ruining the future of Tamil Nadu students. Their only job is to raise language barriers. They are indulging in politics and creating mischief. Their approach is undemocratic and uncivilised,” Pradhan said.
