The Tamil Nadu Plus One results for the year 2023 have been announced. A total of 7,76,844 students appeared for the examination, with 4,15,389 being female students and 3,61,454 male students.
Among the candidates, 7,06,413 students successfully passed the exams, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 90.93%. Notably, 3,91,968 female students achieved success, surpassing their male counterparts by 7.37%. The pass percentage for female students stood at 94.36%, while male students achieved a pass percentage of 86.99%.
Comparing these results to the previous year, where 8,43,675 students appeared for the exams, the pass percentage witnessed a slight increase from 90.07% to 90.93%. Last year, a total of 7,59,856 students successfully cleared the exams.
In terms of schools, Tamil Nadu has 7,549 secondary schools, out of which 1,792 schools attained a 100% pass rate. Among government higher secondary schools, 162 achieved a perfect pass rate.
- Government schools achieved an 84.97% pass rate.
- Government-aided schools achieved a pass rate of 93.20%.
- Private self-financing schools achieved an impressive 97.69% pass rate.
bisexual schools achieved a pass rate of 91.19%.Girls’ schools recorded a pass rate of 94.29%, while boys’ schools achieved a pass rate of 81.88%.
In major subjects, the pass percentages were as follows:
- Physics – 95.37%
- Chemistry – 96.74%
- Biology – 96.62%
- Mathematics – 96.01%
- Botany – 95.30%
- Zoology – 95.27%
- Computer Science – 99.25%
- Commerce – 94.33%
- Accounting – 94.97%.
At the same time, a number of students secured full marks in various subjects. Nine students achieved 100% in Tamil, thirteen in English, 440 in Physics, 107 in Chemistry, 65 in Biology, 17 in Mathematics, 2 in Botany, 34 in Zoology, 940 in Computer Science, 214 in Commerce, 995 in Register of Accounts, 40 in Economics, 598 in Computer Applications, and 132 in Business Mathematics and Statistics.
The results also highlight the achievements of differently-abled candidates. Among the 5,709 differently-abled candidates who appeared for the examination, 5,080 students successfully passed, attaining a pass percentage of 88.98%.
