With lakhs of aspirants competing for a limited number of MBBS seats across the country, the exam demands not just academic brilliance but unwavering focus, consistency, and a well-thought-out preparation strategy. For Anushka Anand Kulkarni, a student from Panaji, Goa, NEET UG 2023 was an opportunity to prove herself — and she did so in spectacular fashion. With a score of 705 out of 720, she secured an All India Rank of 24 and is now pursuing her MBBS at AIIMS Delhi. On regular school days, she devoted 2 to 4 hours daily to NEET preparation, increasing her study time during holidays. For her, it wasn’t about how long she studied, but how well she managed her time and stayed consistent. Her approach involved smart revision techniques, mock tests, and a disciplined schedule. Anushka attributes a large part of her success to her teachers and mentors who helped her stay on track, especially during the uncertainties of the pandemic.

Family Influence And Support Made The Difference

Anushka’s inspiration to pursue medicine stemmed from her family. Her uncle is a spine surgeon, and her aunt is a paediatrician — their commitment to the field left a lasting impression on her from a young age. Her parents, Veena and Anand Kulkarni, supported her aspirations wholeheartedly. From providing academic resources to emotional support, they were with her every step of the way. “My family ensured I never lost direction,” she shared.

Currently in her third year of MBBS at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, Anushka continues to be an inspiration not just in her home state but across the country. Her school principal described her journey as a moment of immense pride for Goa. For thousands of NEET aspirants, Anushka’s journey is a reminder that success in competitive exams doesn’t necessarily come from burnout-level studying — it comes from balance, strategy, and a strong support system.
