The Financial Times Global MBA Rankings 2025 have been released with the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School securing the top position, followed closely by Columbia Business School in the United States.
The rankings highlight the excellence of MBA programs worldwide, with a gap of 148 points separating the top program from the school ranked 100th. The schools are divided into four tiers, with Tier I and Tier II institutions scoring above the average for the cohort, while Tier III and IV schools rank below it.
Tier I includes prestigious institutions like the University of Pennsylvania: Wharton and Esade Business School, while Tier II spans schools like HEC Paris (9th) to the University of Florida: Warrington (48th). Tier III, led by Carnegie Mellon: Tepper, covers schools ranked 49th to the joint 86th position, which includes IIM Kozhikode. Finally, Tier IV includes schools ranked from Grenoble Ecole de Management (89th) to Eada Business School Barcelona (100th).

In an exciting development, eight Indian business schools have made their mark in this prestigious ranking. The Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad emerged as the top Indian B-School, claiming the 27th spot globally. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad followed closely at 31st place, solidifying India’s strong presence in the global business education landscape.
Other notable global institutions also featured prominently in the rankings. Harvard Business School and Cornell University’s Johnson School share the 13th position, while Nanyang Business School, NTU Singapore holds the 22nd spot. Yale School of Management ranks 24th, and the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School sits at 26th.
