Ready to spring into action this March?

OK, so we can’t guarantee the weather will stay onside this month (and/or the safety of your fence). But with over 300,000 jobs live right now, and restrictions being relaxed across England (including guidance around working from home), we can help you find your perfect job.

Whether you’re looking for your first job after graduating, are returning to work after a career break, or are looking to change careers, here are just five of the great companies hiring on Reed.co.uk this month:

Frankie & Benny’s

Frankie & Benny’s is part of The Restaurant Group (TRG), and it has been serving up Italian-American cuisine since 1995. Currently, there are around 95 restaurants in the UK, and they also trade on delivery apps under the virtual brands of BirdBox, Stacks and Devonly Pies.

The backstory to Frankie & Benny’s goes that in 1924 Frankie Giuliani and his parents left Siciliy to move to New York. One year later, the family opened their first restaurant. Frankie became friends with Benny at school, and in 1953 they took over the family restaurant to become Frankie & Benny’s. Of course, the first restaurant was actually opened in 1995, so none of this is true – but it’s a great story!

Frankie & Benny’s has lots of openings right now, including roles for servers, bartenders and chefs. So, if you love cooking up modern Italian classics and want a career to match your apetite, get your application in pronto.

Roles in demand:

Benefits of working for Frankie & Benny’s:

  • Up to 50% discount at all TRG brands and no limit on the number of guests
  • Free meals whenever you work
  • Flexible shift patterns, discounted gym memberships and more

HSBC

Looking for a career in finance? Try the world’s local bank…

The story behind HSBC is quite remarkable. A Scottish man named Thomas Sutherland founded what is today known as HSBC in Hong Kong in 1865. What’s surprising about this is that Thomas Sutherland had no experience in banking. He was inspired to set up a local bank after reading an article in a newspaper. It just goes to show, anything is possible if you set your mind to it!

Today, HSBC is a multinational bank that operates in approximately 64 countries, serving over 40 million customers. HSBC operations are split into three divisions: Commercial Banking, Global Banking and Markets, Wealth and Personal Banking. In 2020, HSBC posted revenue of $50.4 billion.

HSBC is recruiting for several roles throughout March, covering customer service through to providing financial advice.

Roles in demand:

Three fast facts about HSBC:

  • Its head office is in Canary Wharf, London
  • More than 50% of its employees are women
  • HSBC stands for Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corp

Location: Throughout the UK, including Chester, Plymouth, Manchester and Swansea

The AA

The AA, which stands for Automobile Association, has been keeping drivers on UK roads safe since 1905. Even though the cars at this time weren’t hitting high speeds, they weren’t designed with safety in mind!

Initially, the AA carried out road safety patrols using bicycles, but these were replaced by motor vehicles in 1968. You might not know, but the AA actually pioneered the first roadside petrol pumps.

The AA has expanded its operations and today offers vehicle, home and travel insurance, vehicle finance and breakdown cover. A sidearm of the business is the operation of a star rating classification system for hospitality settings, including hotels, B&Bs and self-catering accommodation. The AA also operates a rosette grading system for restaurants.

So, if you want a job that’ll take you places, apply to a job with the AA now.

Roles in demand:

Benefits of working for AA:

  • Discounts on other AA products like home and pet insurance
  • Great discounts with other brands
  • Access to an employee wellbeing scheme for you and your family

Location: Throughout the UK, including Bristol, Dover, Glasgow and Sheffield
