Step 1: Visit the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in

Step 2: Click on the UGC NET registration link available on the homepage.

Step 3: Complete your registration and log in.

Step 4: Fill out the application form with the required details.

Step 5: Pay the application fee and submit the form.

Step 6: Take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.

Last year, the exam was marred by alleged paper leak controversy. CBI probe into the alleged UGC-NET paper leak found that the “evidence” was doctored. This evidence made the Education Ministry to cancel the exam just a day after over 9 lakh candidates appeared for it across 317 cities on June 18.

A screenshot of a UGC-NET question paper began circulating on a Telegram channel around 2 PM on the day of the exam (June 18), accompanied by messages and comments implying that the paper had been leaked prior to the first session.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has entrusted the National Testing Agency (NTA) with the responsibility of conducting the UGC-NET — a test that determines the eligibility of Indian nationals for the roles of ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) & Assistant Professor’ in universities and colleges across India. Since December 2018, the UGC-NET has been conducted by the NTA in a Computer Based Test (CBT) format.
