UGC NET 2024 Result: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the UGC NET December 2024 results soon, along with the final answer key. Candidates can check their results on the official website at ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
This year, 8,49,166 candidates registered for the exam, and 6,49,490 actually appeared, resulting in an attendance rate of 76.5%. The UGC NET December 2024 exam was conducted online from January 3 to January 27 at 558 centres across 266 cities in India.
The provisional answer key was released on January 31, and candidates were allowed to raise objections by paying Rs 200 per question until February 3. After reviewing the objections, experts will release the final answer key, which will be used to calculate the results.
UGC NET Exam Passing Marks
To pass the UGC NET exam, candidates in the general category need at least 40% marks. For OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, and transgender candidates, the passing marks are 35%. The exam determines eligibility for assistant professor posts, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and PhD admissions.
How To Check UGC NET Result 2024?
Step 1: Visit the official website of UGC NET at ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
Step 2: Click on the ‘UGC NET December 2024 Scorecard’ link.
Step 3: Enter your application number and login details.
Step 4: View your result on the screen.
Step 5: Download and print the scorecard for future reference.

What Is UGC NET Exam?
The UGC NET (University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test) is held twice a year, in June and December, to determine eligibility for academic positions in Indian universities and colleges.
The exam is conducted online in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and consists of two papers:
- Paper 1: Common for all candidates, assessing teaching and research aptitude.
- Paper 2: Subject-specific, with 83 subjects to choose from.
Clearing the UGC NET opens up career opportunities as Assistant Professors, Lecturers, or for Junior Research Fellowships (JRF).
