The University of Houston (UH) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Delhi Technological University (DTU) in Delhi. The agreement will last five years, with an option to renew it further in 2030. The partnership calls for UH and DTU to collaborate on educational and research activities, which include opportunities to exchange visiting scholars to conduct research and share scholarly information through research papers, indices to thesis, books and magazines.
Additionally, students will have the opportunity to be placed in paid internships and co-ops through placements by the host university.
The partnership was signed by UH Senior vice president for academic affairs and Provost Diane Z. Chase, UH Cullen College of Engineering dean Pradeep Sharma, DTU Vice Chancellor Prateek Sharma and DTU Dean of international affairs Pravir Kumar on March 20.

“The University of Houston collaborates with top institutions around the globe, and DTU is no exception,” Chase said. “This partnership is a win-win opportunity for both universities and the communities they serve. I look forward to a long, prosperous relationship with one of India’s most reputable academies.”
“This MOU will allow us to increase the number of our Master’s programme students,” said Pradeep Sharma. “Many of these students may also stay longer to do their PhD.”
Last year, UH’s Andy & Barbara Gessner College of Nursing supported the MGM Institute of Health Science in Mumbai and Krisna Institute of Medical Sciences in establishing a Doctor of Nursing Practice program at each school.
In 2023, UH partnered with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations to expand teaching and research on Tamil language, literature and culture. And prior to that, UH and the Indian Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas established a geoscience data repository with display capability and software to interpret key exploration and production data and extensive knowledge of India’s sedimentary basins and fields.

DTU has partnerships with numerous institutions around the globe, including Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, La Trobe University in Victoria, Australia, and Nanjing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics in China. It also has several more collaborations planned for the 2025-2026 school year.
