Noel Tata, a prominent leader at the Tata Group has received an honorary doctorate for his outstanding contributions to global business leadership.

Noel Tata, a prominent business leader at the Tata Group has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Sussex. The degree was presented by Professor Sasha Roseneil, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sussex, during a private ceremony in Mumbai on January 30, 2024.

Noel Tata, who graduated in 1978 with a degree in Economics, expressed his gratitude, saying, “My time studying at Sussex was a rich and stimulating intellectual experience that had a formative influence on me. It is a privilege to be presented with an honorary degree from the University of Sussex, and I would like to thank Sussex for this recognition.”

With more than 40 years of experience, Tata has played a key role in the growth of the Tata Group, particularly in expanding Trent, its fashion retail division. Under his leadership, brands like Westside, Star Bazaar, and Zudio grew significantly.

Currently, Noel Tata holds several major leadership roles, including Chairman of Trent, Voltas, Tata International, and Tata Investment Corporation. He is also Vice Chairman of Tata Steel and Titan Company. In 2024, he became Chairman of the Tata Trusts, furthering his commitment to ethical business practices and social impact.
