UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Question Papers: Union Public Service Commission is going to conduct the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist main exam on the 24th and 25th of June 2023. Candidates who have qualified for the preliminary result announced on 03rd March 2023 will be allowed to attempt the main exam. UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Question Papers

The UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist exam is conducted in three rounds, prelims, mains, and interviews. The first two rounds are written examinations and they test a candidate’s overall theoretical knowledge. 

The UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Prelims exam has four papers namely, General Studies, Geology & Hydrogeology, Geophysics, and Chemistry. Out of these, the General Studies paper is compulsory while the remaining three are optional. The exam is held as CBT for 400 marks. The questions asked are based on the MCQ format and candidates get 2 hours to complete a paper. 

The UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Mains exam is held in the conventional mode and the questions asked are of descriptive nature. There are ten papers in the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist main exam three for each stream namely, Geology, Geophysics, and Chemistry. Each of these subjects has three papers and there is a single paper on Hydrogeology. The main exam is held for 600 marks and each paper is conducted for a duration of three hours.
