UPSC’s new application portal – upsconline.nic.in.
UPSC New Registration Portal: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Wednesday, May 28, launched a new online application portal designed to streamline the registration and application process for aspirants. The revamped system introduces a four-part structure, allowing candidates to complete key steps ahead of any specific exam notification.
The new portal has already gone live at https://upsconline.nic.in, and applications for CDS Exam-II, 2025 and NDA & NA-II, 2025, both notified on May 28, 2025, are now being accepted through it. UPSC has confirmed that the previous One Time Registration (OTR) system is no longer in use, and all candidates must register afresh via the new platform.
The portal features four distinct sections on its homepage—Account Creation, Universal Registration, Common Application Form, and Examination. The first three sections can be filled out at any time, as they contain information common to all UPSC exams. The Examination section will host specific notifications, exam applications, and application status, which candidates will need to fill during the active application window.
According to the Commission, the new system is aimed at easing the application burden, reducing last-minute rush, and helping candidates stay prepared in advance. Aspirants are now required to register and upload documents afresh on the new portal at – upsconline.nic.in, as the previous One Time Registration (OTR) system will no longer be valid.
To further streamline the registration and application process, the UPSC has advised candidates to use their Aadhaar card as the ID document in the Universal Registration section. This ensures easy and seamless verification and serves as a permanent, common record for all future examinations.
The UPSC has urged all candidates to make note of the changes and begin using the new portal for any upcoming examinations.
