The UPSC Prelims Paper-II (CSAT) will be held today from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Meanwhile, students, teachers, and parents can check the GS Paper-1 exam analysis here. As per the initial reaction of the students, the first paper (General Studies) was moderate to difficult. Candidates also felt that the Prelims cutoff is expected to rise this year.
The UPSC CSE Paper-I had 100 questions carrying a total of 200 marks. Candidates were given complete 2 hours to complete the GS Paper-1. Candidates must note that the General Studies Paper will be considered for the Prelims cutoff.
One of the candidates, Nidhi Sharma (1st attempt) found GS Paper-1 to be moderate. According to her, most of the questions were based on current affairs. History was moderate and Polity was comparatively easy. While in Science and Technology, most of the questions were on recent developments in the field. Once again, the Science section was filled with mostly environment-related questions.
A student attempting the GS Paper for the third time expressed his view that this year’s examination was more challenging compared to the previous year. According to him, there were few straightforward questions this time around. The UPSC seems to be integrating various topics to create composite questions. Additionally, he observed that a significant portion of the questions focused on History and Economy subjects.
