The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission’s (UPPSC) Provincial Civil Service-Judicial (UP PCS-J) Exam is held every year to recruit candidates for the post of Civil Judge. The candidates for the UP Judiciary Services are appointed as group B and gazetted posts. The selection is primarily done through prelims, mains, and interviews. The preliminary exam is objective, while the main exam is descriptive. It is one of the most difficult competitive exams in the state. Every year, thousands of aspirants prepare themselves for this exam, but only a few of them can clear it and become government officials. Now, there has been news that a boy named Aarush Pathak has recently cleared the PCS-J examination. He has become the 5th judge in his family. Let’s look at his success story.

Aarush Pathak has always been a bright student since his school days. He graduated with law from a private college and then completed his Master of Law (LLM) from Lucknow. In 2022, he passed the PCS-J examination in Rajasthan with 40th rank and became a civil judge there. But he wasn’t satisfied with this and wanted to stay closer to his family and home. Then, he once again decided to prepare for the examination and passed the Uttar Pradesh PCS J examination with 97th rank. He was able to clear it because of his sheer hard work and dedication. His family is happy that he was able to clear the examination twice.

Another interesting part of Aarush’s story is that he is the fifth judge in his family. Apart from him, his two sisters and his two brothers-in-law are also judges. His father is also a retired judge.

Aarush’s two sisters, Poonam Pathak and Babita Pathak, are judges. Poonam and her husband, Nitin Pandey, are ADJs in Mathura. The other sister, Babita and her husband Mayank Tripathi are posted in the Chandausi Court of Sambhal. Babita is CJM, and Mayank is in the civil division.
