The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) opens doors to various teaching opportunities across India. While CTET does not guarantee direct employment, it is a mandatory qualification for those aspiring to teach in Central Government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Navodaya Vidyalayas, and CBSE-affiliated schools.

This year, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the CTET exam on December 14. The examination was conducted in two shifts. Paper 1 was held for candidates who want to be teachers in grades 1-5, while Paper 2 was held for applicants who want to be teachers in grades 6-8.

The CTET 2024 provisional answer key is scheduled to be released soon by the CBSE. Those who sat for the exam will be able to access their answer key on the official website using their login credentials. Those who wish to object to any answer key would be able to do so by paying Rs 1,000 per question. The final CTET 2024 result will be prepared based on the objections filed by applicants.

Qualifying for the CTET Exam provides excellent career advancement chances in the teaching industry. Some of the career options for CTET for various posts are shown below:

Primary Teacher (PRT):

Candidates are teachers of grades 1 through 5. To be considered for this position, candidates must hold a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) in addition to the CTET qualification. Their job responsibilities include delivering the curriculum for all topics to pupils, creating a healthy learning environment, and monitoring their progress.

Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT):

Teachers of TGT are for Classes 6 to 8. But they also need to have a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree, a CTET qualification, and a graduate degree in any field. They must develop and present curricula, expose students to different methods and support their creative expression.

Post Graduate Teacher (PGT):

Classes 9 to 12 are taught by PGT teachers. They must, however, hold a B.Ed. Degree, the CTET certification, and a postgraduate degree in the field they want to teach. They help students get ready for entrance examinations and board exams, and they specialise in higher secondary courses.

Education Consultant:

Candidates who pass the CTET exam and have experience in special education, curriculum creation, or educational evaluation may also work as education consultants, offering advice to educational institutions and schools on these topics.
